Hastings Basketball Board

The Hastings Basketball Board (HBB) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization committed to enriching the lives of youth through basketball. Serving families in the Hastings School District, HBB offers programs that teach fundamental skills, encourage teamwork, and inspire athletes to grow both on and off the court.

Our Programs

Our programs are open to boys and girls in grades K-8 who live within or attend school in the Hastings School District. In partnership with the Hastings High School basketball coaching staff, we strive to create a consistent approach to skill instruction, player expectations, and long-term growth while fostering a lifelong love of the game. Our programs include:

• Hoops Factory: Basketball clinics focusing on fundamentals for youth in grades K-4.
• Traveling Basketball: Competitive team play for athletes in grades 3-8.
• Summer Opportunities: Camps, skill sessions, and seasonal challenges designed to keep players active and improving throughout the offseason.

Our Philosophy

We believe every young athlete deserves the opportunity to learn the game in a positive, challenging, and supportive environment. Our focus extends beyond basketball fundamentals by emphasizing teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, accountability, confidence, and perseverance. Through quality coaching and age-appropriate competition, players gain valuable life skills, build lasting friendships, and experience the rewards of hard work. Above all, we hope every participant leaves our program with a lifelong appreciation for basketball as a source of enjoyment, fitness, and personal growth.

Trusted Coaches Member

Hastings Basketball is proud to participate in the Trusted Coaches initiative, demonstrating our commitment to providing a safe, positive, and supportive environment for every athlete. As part of this commitment, all coaches undergo a nationwide criminal background check and complete training in concussion awareness, first aid, and child safety to help ensure the well-being of every player.

Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS)

Hastings Basketball is a member of Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS) and the Minnesota Youth Basketball Alliance (MYBA). Our traveling teams compete in MYBA-sanctioned tournaments, providing players with quality competition and a consistent, well-organized basketball experience.
